Volunteer Program Participation
1. Booking & Payment
A confirmed booking requires completion of the application form and payment of the program deposit.
The deposit is non-transferable and secures the volunteer’s placement and logistical preparation.
The remaining balance must be paid before arrival or upon arrival as agreed with the program coordinator.
Payments cover program coordination, accommodation, meals, local transport, and community support contributions unless otherwise stated.
International bank transfer fees and currency conversion costs are the responsibility of the volunteer.
2. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Deposits are non-refundable due to preparation, coordination, and community commitments.
Cancellation made 30 days before arrival may be eligible for partial refund of the remaining balance.
Cancellation made less than 30 days before arrival may not be eligible for a refund.
In cases of emergency, rescheduling may be offered depending on availability.
No refund will be provided for early departure, unused services, or personal schedule changes.
3. Tour Itinerary & Changes
Program activities may be adjusted due to weather conditions, transportation limitations, community events, or safety considerations.
The organization reserves the right to modify schedules while ensuring meaningful program delivery.
Flexibility and cultural adaptability are expected as part of the volunteer experience in remote island settings.
4. Safety & Liability
Volunteers participate at their own risk and are responsible for their personal decisions and behaviour during the program.
The organization will provide guidance, orientation, and local support but cannot be held liable for accidents, illness, loss of personal belongings, or unforeseen events.
Volunteers must follow safety instructions, community regulations, and local guidance at all times.
Participation may be terminated if a volunteer’s behaviour endangers themselves, others, or the community.
5. Equipment & Gear
Volunteers are responsible for bringing personal essentials including clothing, medication, teaching materials (if preferred), and personal travel gear.
Snorkeling or outdoor activity equipment may be provided when available, but availability cannot be guaranteed.
The organization is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage of personal equipment.
6. Environmental & Ethical Guidelines
Volunteers agree to:
Respect local culture, traditions, and community values
Practice responsible tourism and minimize environmental impact
Avoid single-use plastics where possible
Respect marine ecosystems and avoid damaging coral or wildlife
Follow ethical engagement with children and community members
Refrain from exploitative photography or content without consent
7. Travel & Insurance
Volunteers are responsible for arranging their own international and domestic travel.
Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical care, evacuation, trip cancellation, and personal belongings is strongly required.
Volunteers must ensure they are medically fit to participate in remote island activities.
The organization is not responsible for travel disruptions, visa issues, or airline schedule changes.
